Decentralized Chat

If blockchain features are activated, Wannahang will utilise next generation blockchain technology to facilitate an encrypted messenger chat, wallet to wallet & between multiple wallets (group chats).

All messages will be stored on-chain which renders the need for data-bases obsolete. This concept is highly attractive for the financial position of a social networking company since the acquisition and maintenance of server databases is a costly operation that severely reduces net profit.

Users wishing to engage in the encrypted chat will require a blockchain wallet (provided within the Wannahang dApp) funded with SOL. Since each operation on the blockchain requires gas, messages essentially require funds. With next generation blockchains these fees are minuscule and we estimate the equivalent of 10 USD may fund a user's messaging for months.

Since Wannahang is a platform for the masses, the encrypted messenger will be optional so that users who do not wish to acquire cryptocurrency can still use the chat. Thus it will be able to be switched on & off at the preference of the user. In the event Wannahang finds itself with a large percentage of the user base opting out of the encrypted messenger, gas will be funded by the project to encourage use & as a cheaper alternative to database acquisition.
